The main GCRC unit is located on the fifth floor
of the University of Utah Hospital. The recently
remodeled unit includes five outpatient exam
rooms, a patient registration and waiting area,
as well as a private office for counseling and consultation. There are three specialized
procedure suites, a recovery area for short
stay patients, and seven fully
equipped
hospital rooms that can be set up for private
or semi-private use.
One suite has a cardiac monitor, two rooms
are equiped for endoscopy exams. A recovery
room is adjacent to these suites for post
procedure recovery length and outpatient
procedures or infusions.
Four of the inpatient rooms have isolation
air handling capabilities. Several computer
monitors are available at the nursing station
from which patient laboratory results and
other patient information may be accessed.
A small dietary kitchen is also available for
studies with a dietary component.
